I want to be in the parade!

Registrations closed on March 1st. Please email board@downtownbremerton.org to be considered as a late registrant.

This year we are offering a cash prize for the best float! Below are the requirements for what our judges are going to look for. We are happy to have folks participate in the parade and not compete if that is their wish. After registration, our team will reach out with more information and confirm if your group desires to compete.

Parade Float Contest Requirements

  • Per our definition, a float can be a three-dimensional figure mounted on a device that has wheels. This can be an automobile vehicle or other conveyances, that are pushed, pulled, or peddled. Human-propelled devices will need to keep up with the parade.
  • Following our theme (St. Patrick's Day and/or Spring) is not a requirement, but is considered during judging.
  • The group name must be prominently displayed somehow.
  • The float must be no more than 13 feet tall
  • The float must finish the parade in the same condition in which it entered
  • No candy or giveaways may be thrown from the float or walkers. All items must be walked to the side of the road and handed to the recipient. No marketing materials!
  • Any type of material may be used during construction so long as it doesn’t violate any environmental standards or city/state/federal ordinances. All entries must be constructed so that spectators on both sides of the street can view them. This includes decorations and trims.
  • There is no limit to the number of people allowed on the float. Children on the float must be supervised by an adult.
  • Floats must participate in the parade to be eligible for points and prizes. They must finish the entire parade route.
  • Final judging will take place during the parade. In the event of bad weather, final judging will take place during the Parade Line-up. Judges’ decisions are final.

Additional rules and considerations will be emailed to you upon onboarding.
