We are excited to announce our next Brew Break workshop in partnership with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries!
Not only will this workshop feature some great information on hiring employees, but Wendy Fox, the Interim Dean, Workforce & Economic Development at Olympic College will be joining us. Wendy will speak about their Customized Employee Training for Small Businesses, including how Olympic College can assist on sample costs, scaffolded training for new hires, professional development for existing employees, and supervisor/manager training.
This is a huge resource in our community, so come ready to learn about these programs and opportunities that can help your business and our downtown thrive while connecting with fellow entrepreneurs and downtown folks.
The DBA has been awarded an 18-month contract with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) to provide small business outreach and education-oriented services and products related to L&I's requirements and resources. We're excited to be a connection between downtown and Bremerton-area businesses and L&I and will be posting information, hosting presentations, and tabling at events downtown over the next year. We want to make sure small businesses understand L&I standards so they can succeed and keep their employees and customers safe!
Today, the DBA is focused on Downtown economic and quality-of-life issues. Preserving the history of Downtown Bremerton, as well as educating the public of the uniqueness of our City's core, is part of our mission.
