Main Street

The Main Street tax credit incentive program provides a Business & Occupation (B&O) credit for private contributions given to eligible downtown organizations. Once your business’ donation request is approved by the Department of Revenue, you are eligible for a tax credit worth 75% of the contribution to our revitalization organization.  Further, since the DBA is a 501C3 you may be eligible for a federal income tax deduction as a charitable contribution.
What we currently need are volunteers to serve on the following committees: Economic VitalityOrganizationPromotions, and Design. If you want to help us further the success downtown ask any board member for information.

Holiday Season

Well, with Halloween behind us it's time to get serious about the Holiday Season. Tomorrow is Art Walk and it looks AMAZING weather and hopefully people will come out, shop and play.

Yesterday, I visited some businesses with Shop Small campaign materials. I have more so let me know if you can put out a few things for tonight's Art Walk to help us get the word out for Small Business Saturday on 11/26.

Halloween was an amazing night. Thanks to Katie Albright for coordinating and her team of volunteers including Gina Schulz. We estimate we may have had as many as 2,500 trick-or-treaters! We'd love to hear your estimates.

Just a reminder that this month's GreenDrinks joins the edg3 FUND on Thursday, November 17th. 5:30pm at the Kitsap Conference Center for networking and 6:15 for the program.

Lastly, WinterFest will be December 2nd & 3rd. Friday will be a fairly traditional Art Walk night and Saturday will have the streets closed for Hay Rides, Santa Arriving by Fire Truck, Tree Lighting by the Mayor at the Puget Sound Navy Museum and Photos with Santa following at the Kitsap Credit Union.

WinterFest's Art Walk kicks off a calendar of themes for 2017. A group met led by Marit Bockelie of Bremerton Letterpress to craft some concepts - this was an action from a membership meeting. More information soon.
